Meet Our Keynote Speakers

Charol Shakeshaft, PhD
Professor | Virginia Commonwealth University
A professor at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Education, with over three decades of experience studying sexual misconduct by school employees. Dr. Shakeshaft has also served as an expert witness in 250 lawsuits involving K-12 schools and universities. Dr. Shakeshaft is currently researching Prevention of Educator Sexual Misconduct, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is currently the president of Women Leading in Education Across Continents, an organization to promote gender equity and leadership for girls and women.
Dr. Shakeshaft has authored four books and more than 200 referred articles and papers, many of which have received national and state awards. Her research focuses on three strands: gender and leadership, sexual abuse of students by other students and/or adults employed in schools, and the effectiveness of technology for learning, particularly for students of color.

He is the author of several bestselling books and has multiple regular columns in leading magazines, with over 400 articles and 100 videos to his credit. Shawn's passion, dedication, influence, and significant contributions to the safety field have been widely recognized. He has received numerous awards and accolades, including Global Safety Excellence Expert, Power 101 Leaders of the EHS World, Top 50 People Who Most Influenced EHS, Top 40 Rising Stars, and Top 10 Speakers.
